Visit UNESCO Olomouc & Kromeriz

This full-day trip will take us to 2 Moravian towns, both inscribed in the UNESCO heritage list. The history of both towns is tightly bound with the Archdiocese of Olomouc. In Kroměříž, which acted as a summer residence for Olomouc bishops and archbishops, we will see the Archbishop Palace, where Milos Forman’s Oscar winning movie Amadeus was filmed, and 2 gardens – the castle garden and the Flower Garden. The Flower Garden, the most preserved garden of its kind in Europe, was the main reason for the listing of the town as a UNESCO monument. After learning about how bishops used to spend their leisure time we will drive to Olomouc, the official residence of the archbishops. In Olomouc we will take a walking tour in the city centre starting with St Wenceslaus Cathedral and ending at the UNESCO monument of the Holy Trinity Baroque Column.
